Area code two thirteen is one of the smaller of all the area codes in the country in the sense that it only covers five counties and a very small portion of land in western central California, however it does preside over a total of forty-three cities and towns, some of them of course are La Palma, Reseda, Tustin and West Hollywood.
Considering that it does cover parts of Los Angeles and runs into Orange county, the population under area code 213 is fairly sized being at roughly two point four million people in the area.
The Hispanic population makes up the overall majority of people under two thirteen, with whites in second in numbers and then blacks, which is closely followed up by Asians. The population of men and women is about equal to each other.
This area code is fairly historical because it is one of the oldest and is one of the three that was originally created for the state of California in nineteen forty-seven (1947), way back when NANPA was first establishing area codes to a growing population in the United States.
This area code reached the border of Mexico at one time, but because the population was growing so rapidly, it now simply serves the down town region of Los Angeles and one might look at it as being "landlocked" in a way by area code three twenty three.
